Buffalo cast iron Windmill counterbalance Weight from a C. 1900 Midwestern windmill. 10 3/4" high. 15 1/4" wide, 5/6" thick. Weight is about 10 lbs. Good old in use paint with wear. No damages or repairs. From a South Dakota collection. Maker unknown, but often attributed to the Dempster Mill Manufacturing Co. of Beatrice, Nebraska. Mounted for display on a contemporary base.

French and Indian War Map Horn
A well developed French and Indian War era engraved map powder horn dated "1757". The extra large horn is signed "Nathan Hall, his horn, made at Fort Milar Tan, A.D. 1757". It depicts a well defined scrimshawed map from New York City to Lake Champlain with many forts and towns identified along the way on the Hudson River, Mohawk River, Lake George and Lake Champlain. It also has the English coat of arms and the English Flag flying over NYC, as it should be in 1757.
The horn has a very good natural wear pattern and is in excellent original condition. Found in Colorado from a family who's ancestors migrated west in the 19th C. The horn is 16" long.

Small Rooster Windmill Weight
Small cast iron Rooster counterbalance Windmill Weight. Made about 1900 by the Elgin Wind Power and Pump Co. of Elgin, Illinois. It is cast markd "Hummer E 184" on the tail. It is the smallest of the Rooster weight. It was made for the Model L Hummer Pumping Mill introduced in the early 1900's. 8 3/4" high, 9 7/8" wide and 1 3/4" thick. Weight is about 9 lbs. Old dark paint with red accents. From a Midwestern collection. Excellent original condition. Mounted for display.

Pair Shoes for a Child
A pair of small 19th C. child's shoes (only 5 1/4" long). Leather, cloth, wood and brass construction. Beautifully made with figured black leather fronts, red cloth over leather backs, carved wood soles and all accented with brass tacks and closure buckles. Most unusual Northeast American crooked knife with a "bone handle" having an excellent naturally worn patina. Also retains half of its original brass blade wrapping. Early 19th C. "Travelling Candle Sticks". They disassemble and fit into the 2 dish saucers and then screw together to create a compact "donut" shaped container for easy packing and transport. 3 1/4" diameter. Excellent condition with a minor nick in the lip of one candle cup.

American blown 3-mold decanter in the quart size, c. 1820-35. McKearin pattern GI-7, type 1 but in the quart size with correct original stopper. New England origin. Excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, bruises or stains. Also has an unusual inward folded flange lip.

Clown Painting
"Wall Street Averages Hit Bottom" oil on masonite by William Persona. "Persona", as he was known was made famous by his sad clown paintings. It is signed and in its original labeled frame. William A. Persona was born in 1903 and died in Hawaii in 1996. He studied art at the Chicago Academy of Fine Arts in the 1920's, and later at the Los Angeled Otis Art Institute. This painting was done during his days at Laguna Beach, CA before 1972. The painting is 9" x 12". An interesting part of the history of this painting is that it came from the personal collection of Allan S. Kaplan, Vice Chairman of Lehman Brothers at the time of its collapse. Kaplan's personal property card in included. Excellent original condition.
