Brass Covered Compass
Early 19th C. brass covered card compass, 2 3/4" diameter, 1" tall. Body is heavy cast brass. The compass card and glass are original. A later printed portrait of a young military man has been mounted on the inside of the top. Probably English origin based on compass point letters. Nice large original example. Excellent patina.

Fireman's hat
Exceptional 19th C. Philadelphia Fireman's Hat dated 1855 and marked "UF" for the Union Fire Company (formed in 1736 with the assistance of Ben Franklin). Nice red paint and mostly original condition except for old replaced front company badge and some interior wear from use.

Clown Bank
Early 20th C. cast iron child's Penny Bank, 6 1/4" tall These banks were made to help children learn thrift and savings. Clown form with its original gold, flesh and red paints. Nice pattern of original wear from use. Casting is crisp and nicely detailed. No damage. The clown was made by the A.C.Williams Company.

Civil War Soldier's Pipe
Union Soldier's Civil War carved wood pipe. Very well carved with a detailed wreath/band of leaves around the rim, carved scrolls along bottom and sides and finished at center with a well formed American shield with 13 carved stars and 7 inlaid bars. Crisp, sharp carving, nice worn patina, and lightly smoked. Circa early/mid 1860's. Excellent original condition. Displayed on a steel mount.
